Public safety & Fire

Provided funding for police recruit class and increased allowance for newly sworn officers. Councilman Reed also restored funding for joint fire operations that was cut by the mayor. He also supports Suburban Fire Departments efforts for Ambulatory Services.

fiscal responsibility

Served on the Budget Committee that balanced the budget without raising punitive insurance taxes. Held the line on excess fees and regulations. Spent discretionary funds on capital projects like the Norton Commons Elementary playground equipment.

infrastructure/paving

Increased annual paving budget from $14 Million to $18 Million. Funded Barbour Lane and a portion of Murphy Lane repaving.
